Open AR Cloud Europe Seeks to Team Up with US Testbeds for NGI Atlantic Proposals

Thursday, February 4th 2021 Webinar
11 AM Pacific | 1 PM Central | 2 PM Eastern for 30 minutes

The Open AR Cloud is a global non-profit organization driving the development of open and interoperable spatial computing technology, data, and standards to connect the physical and digital worlds for the benefit of all. The Open AR Cloud Europe (gUG) is the European affiliate of the global Open AR Cloud association.

Open Spatial Computing Platform (OSCP)

Our partners and members are defining and building the first reference implementations of the Open Spatial Computing Platform. The components of the OSCP include the Spatial Discovery Service, localization services, and content management services. Leveraging the new OGC GeoPose standard, all components are decentralized and follow the most modern software practices.

Testbeds

Two implementations of the OSCP are currently operational, one in Bari, Italy, and the other in Helsinki, Finland. These testbeds permit the development of use cases for Augmented Reality services in urban environments, and to demonstrate the performance of OSCP components.

OARC Goal

The OARC Europe seeks to team with one or more testbeds implemented in North America in order to prepare and submit one or more winning proposals in response to the NGI Atlantic 3rd call for proposals

With our team partners, the proposals will describe experiments to measure performance and to demonstrate the implementation of the OSCP components on advanced network infrastructures, including distributed architectures using edge computing and 5G technologies to perform computationally intensive tasks.

Webinar Scope

The webinar will introduce the OARC organization and its values, the OSCP, and the testbeds.
The OARC leaders will also describe experiments of interest and discuss potential areas for collaboration.

Speakers

In addition, members of the OARC leadership team will be on the webinar to answer any questions from the audience.
