2019 State of The AR Cloud Symposium and Showcase

Open AR Cloud (OARC) is proud to invite all those interested in learning the latest insights about AR Cloud technology and to experience the state of the art to an exciting symposium and showcase at the Ericsson Experience Center on Tuesday May 28, 2019.

At this important, full-day event, OARC will present the highlights of the inaugural State of the AR Cloud report. During afternoon sessions, leading AR Cloud technology providers will showcase and demonstrate their latest breakthroughs. Attendees will experience hands on demonstrations of revolutionary AR Cloud technology.

We are also exited to have Kavya Pearlman, Brian Wassom, Lisa Watts, Kent Bye and Damon Hernandez on a panel discussion about "Privacy and security in the era of constant reality capture".

Following the Symposium and Showcase, all registered attendees are invited to join their colleagues for an evening of refreshments and fun hosted by ContextGrid at the Villas at Bar Island in Redwood City!

Panelists

Brian D. Wassom is a globally recognized thought leader in the brand-new legal issues raised by augmented reality and other cutting-edge emerging media, including through his blog at AugmentedLegality.com and by publishing the first book on AR law. He has achieved victories for his clients in federal and state trial and appeal courts across the country, including in the first case to apply First Amendment freedoms of speech to location-based augmented reality games like “Pokemon Go.”

Kavya Pearlman is co-founder of non-profit effort, XR Safety Initiative (XRSI) that promotes privacy, security, ethics and develop standards around application security for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) collectively known as XR.

Lisa M Watts is a storyteller and technologist known for her business insight, creativity and relationship building. She's behind some of the most innovative projects in the immersive media space in the last few years. At Fortune 50 company Intel Corporation, she led global marketing strategy and storytelling for virtual reality. She invested in groundbreaking independent projects such as "Leviathan," "Spheres," "Tree," "Zero Days VR," helped launch the VR league with ESL and Oculus. She produced some of the most innovative social experiences in partnership with Sansar. As CEO and founder of One/Twenty1 Immersive, she brings together VR/AR creators, engineers, artists, marketers and event planners to develop unforgettable human experiences.

Kent Bye has conducted over 1000 Voices of VR podcast interviews featuring the pioneering artists, storytellers, and technologists driving the resurgence of virtual & augmented reality. He's a philosopher, oral historian, & experiential journalist helping to define the patterns of immersive storytelling, experiential design, & the ultimate potential of XR. He was a co-organizer of the VR Privacy Summit at Stanford University in 2018.

Damon Hernandez works in many areas of the Web3D Industry and has been active in virtual environments and the 3D web for almost 20 years. He is actively involved with the 3D web’s convergence with other technologies including IoT,GIS, CAD/BIM/CAM, AR/VR, mobile and advises a variety of entities that use these technologies. He is currently at Samsung Research America making the web browsing experience awesome and enhanced with immersive web technologies.

Look out for a sign that says The Villas at Bair Island Marina where you need to turn in. There is ample parking next to the marina. If you have gone to Blu Harbor then you have gone too far. The entrance to the party is located on the right of the leasing office through a metal door next to the marina. There should be someone at the door to let you in. If not call Arka on 917 714 0822 and we will direct you.
